OPEC, Organization of the Petroleum exporting countries, was founded in 1960 in Baghdad, Iraq.It has 14 members countries. OPEC, contributes 44 percent of Global oil production and 81.5 percent of Worlds " proven " oil reserves.
Of OPEC's 14 members, 5 members from middle east, Asia, they are Iran, Iraq, kuwait, Saudi arabia and United Arab Emirates (UAE), 7 members from Africa, Algeria, Angola, Equitorial Guinea, Gabon, Libya, Nigeria and Republic of congo, and 2 members from South America, Venezuela And Ecuador.
It had its first Headquaters in Geneva, Switzerland in the first 5 years of existence and moved to Vienna, Austria in 1965.
